ABOUT THE PROJECT
Clearer information for nurses planning Australia
The Nursing Central is an independent education project created by Alvaro, RN, a Spanish-trained registered nurse working in Western Australia.
Why I created it
I completed AHPRA registration in 2023 after training in Spain and working in the United Kingdom and Ireland. My AHPRA application was assessed as Stream A and took around nine months. My first ANMAC application was unsuccessful; after gaining additional Australian aged-care experience and updating the evidence, the second was approved.
The process taught me how easily applicants can confuse registration, skills assessment and visa requirements-and how quickly a confident online claim can become outdated.
What you will find here
- Current guides to AHPRA/NMBA registration and ANMAC skills assessments.
- General, carefully bounded explanations of common visa families.
- English-test comparisons that separate AHPRA, ANMAC and Home Affairs scores.
- Free clinical calculators with clear safety notices.
- Original tables and graphics designed to make complex requirements easier to compare.
How the site is funded
The core articles and clinical calculators remain freely available. The site also sells optional practical resources, including document trackers, templates and toolkits, and offers clearly defined support services. Paid products organise and support the process; they do not buy an AHPRA, ANMAC or visa outcome.
Editorial principles
- Official source first: important requirements link to Ahpra, NMBA, ANMAC or Home Affairs.
- Visible review dates: regulated-process articles show when they were last checked.
- Experience is labelled: my personal pathway is not presented as a rule for everyone.
- No guarantees: the relevant authority decides registration, assessment, nomination and visa outcomes.
- Corrections welcome: outdated or inaccurate information can be reported through the contact page.
Privacy and professional identity
I publish as Alvaro, RN. I do not publish my surname, employer, AHPRA registration number or exact home location. This provides enough relevant background to understand the perspective of the site without exposing unnecessary personal information.
Independence
The Nursing Central is not affiliated with Ahpra, NMBA, ANMAC, the Australian Government, OET, IELTS, Pearson, ETS or a migration agency.
Contact and corrections
If you spot an error or have a suggestion, use the contact page. For personal visa advice, use a registered migration professional.
